Rose and Schisandra Tea for Women’s Health | 玫瑰五味子饮

Unlike Chinese medicinal decoctions with dozens of ingredients, long cooking times, and exceptionally bitter flavor profiles, functional teas contain mostly two to four ingredients that only need to be steeped in boiling water. Teas such as this one can be used as a simple home remedy or as a daily beverage supporting and enhancing the effects of other medical therapies.

The rose family has over 130 species and thousands of cultivars. All roses are edible and can be used in tea, but some varieties are sweet while others are more bitter. This tea is an aromatic herbal beverage made from the delicate buds of rose flowers and the tart Schisandra berry. We recommend drinking it in the evening to tonify the kidneys, gently moves Qi and blood, and unblock stagnation.
